🛡️ Best Practice: Create Your Ad Account Inside a Business Manager
To protect your new Facebook ad account, you should always create it inside a Business Manager — either yours or your client’s. This keeps the ad account secure and owned by the business, not an individual person.

You can check by visiting:
https://business.facebook.com/settings
If you already have a Business Manager, it will show up there.
If you don’t have one, you’ll have the option to create a new Business Manager using that same link.
➕ After That: Add Your Ad Account
Once you’ve created or found your Business Manager, you’ll be able to add your new ad account inside it. This is the safest and most professional way to manage your ads moving forward.
How To Add A New Ad Account In Business Manager
Steps to add an ad account in Business Manager:
1 - Go to Business settings.
If you have multiple Business Managers, choose the one you'd like to create the ad account through
If you only have one, it automatically pull up
2 - Click Accounts from the left side menu. Then, click Ad accounts.
3 - Click the blue Add dropdown menu.
4 - Choose one of the 3 options: Add an ad account
5 - Enter in a new ad account name, choose your time zone and your currency
6 - On Usage, select "My Business"
7- On Confirm, check the "I Agree" box and select "Create Ad Account"
8 - It will ask you if you'd like to add in a payment method. Add now if possible to protect your ad account from getting disabled (best practice). You can add this in later if needed, but it's not reccommened.
9 - Follow the prompts to add in your payment method
10 - Your ad account has been created. HOWEVER, you still need to give a yourself permission to access it. Go to the "Ad Accounts" menu option on the left, select your ad account, the click "Assign People"
11 - Click on the people you want to grant access to and set their permissions. Make sure to give yourself full control. Then click "Assign"
