💼 Why You Should Have Your Facebook Page Inside a Business Manager

Having your Facebook Page inside a Business Manager (or Meta Business Manager) is one of the most important steps for running ads the right way. It gives you more control, better security, and easier access management for your team and clients.

Here’s why it matters 👇

🔒 1. Better Security & Ownership

When your Page is inside Business Manager, the business owns the assets — not one person’s personal Facebook account.

  • This means if an employee leaves or loses access, the Page is still safe.

  • It prevents one person from having full control over important business assets.

In short: the business, not an individual, stays in control.

👥 2. Easy Access for Teams and Agencies

Business Manager makes it simple to grant or remove access for different people.

  • You can give employees, partners, or agencies access to specific Pages or ad accounts — without sharing personal logins.

  • You can control exactly what level of access each person has (for example, analyst vs. admin).

This keeps things organized and professional when multiple people help manage your ads.

📊 3. Centralized Management of All Assets

Your Pages, Ad Accounts, Pixels, Audiences, and Instagram accounts can all live under one roof.

  • You don’t have to jump between personal profiles or multiple logins.

  • Everything related to your marketing — including permissions and billing — is in one dashboard.

This saves time and keeps your business assets connected.

If a page is not assigned to a business manager, then you want to When you add a Facebook Page to your Business Manager, you can manage your Page’s activity with one tool. Adding a Page to your Business Manager means you’re claiming your business owns that Page.

Note: Adding a Page to your Business Manager account is not the same process as claiming responsibility for a Page. Learn more about Page Transparency.

  • The Page you’re trying to add can’t be owned by another person or business. Each Page can only be owned by one business. If you want to add a Page you don’t own, the Page’s owner must first remove it from their Business Manager. OR You can request to add your page into your business manager through the same steps of adding a page into your business manager as listed below.

Here’s one more quirky thing about Facebook — but don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

When you add a Facebook Page into a Business Manager, you’re giving ownership of that Page to the Business Manager itself — not to a person.

You’ll need to take one extra step to ensure the right access.

NOTE: This same process is also how you’ll give new employees or team members permission to the Page in the future. So it’s a good skill to know and remember!

After you have sucessfully added your page into your business manager, then click on the page itself. You'll see an "Assign people" button. Select it!

A list of people who are in your business manager will show up. Simply choose the person you want to grant access to the page, choose the level of permission/control you want to give them (if it's you, give yourself full permission), and select assign.

All set!

Note: Anyone who had access to the Page before it was added to Business Manager will still be able to access and manage the Page.
