How to Create Facebook Ads Using UpHex

There are 4 different ad types you can create using the UpHex template builder. Those 4 types include Facebook Lead Gen ads, Messenger Lead Ads, Messenger Engagement ads and Funnels/Landing Page ads. You can set all 4 types up in one campaign builder job, or you can choose to only setup the type(s) you'd like.

Step 1: Template Setup

  1. Navigate to My Templates: Go to the Facebook section within My Templates.

  2. Create New Template: Click on the "Create Template" button.

  3. Name Your Template: Enter a descriptive name for the ad so you and your clients can see what the offer is all about at a glance (leads will not see this)

  4. Enabled:

    • Uncheck: If you don't want clients to see it yet.

    • Check: If you want it live and usable.

  5. Categorize: Add the template to a relevant category (this is to keep your library organized)

  6. Campaign Structure:

    • Choose either: one ad set with multiple images.(recommended) or multiple ad sets with one image each

  7. Placement:

    • Default: Keep "Automatic Placement" (recommended).

    • Override: Choose "Manual Placement" and select specific locations if needed.

  8. Dynamic Creative:

    • Default: Keep this turned OFF, especially when starting out testing images.

    • Override: Turn ON later once your ad is consistently performing well, and you are comfortable with your images.

  9. Special Ad Categories:

    • Select: If your ad relates to housing, credit, employment, or politics.

    • Leave Blank: If not applicable.

Step 2: Write Your Ad

  1. Headline: Fill in the main headline of your ad.

  2. Link Description: Add a brief description under the headline.

  3. Primary Text: Write the main body of your ad.

  4. Call to Action Button: Choose a button (e.g., "Learn More").

  5. Custom Values:

    • Use: To personalize your ad for different clients or locations. Create one ad for 1000s to use.

    • Format: {{city_name}}, {{business_name}}, etc.

Step 3: Upload Media

  1. Upload: Add images or videos to your ad.

  2. Thumbnail (for Videos): Include a thumbnail image for videos.

  3. Multiple Media: You can add several images and/or videos.

  4. For Facebook 1080x1080 is the recommended ratio as it adjusts to most platforms well.

Step 4: Choose Offer Type

  1. Setup Offer Type: Choose from:

    • Facebook Lead Gen Form

    • Facebook Lead Messenger Ad

    • Facebook Engagement Messenger Ad

    • Funnel Ad

  2. Complete Relevant Sections:

    • Messenger Ads: Fill out the welcome message.

    • Lead Form/Messenger Lead Ads:

      • Form Settings: Leave default or adjust if needed.

      • Greeting: Optional, add a reminder of the offer.

      • Questions: Set up questions to collect information (name, phone, email are default).

      • Privacy: Add disclaimer title, text, and privacy policy URL.

      • Confirmation Page: Customize headline, description, and call-to-action button.

    • Funnel Ads: Select "Landing Page" when launching and add the funnel URL.

Step 5: Targeting

  1. Add Targeting: Set up any desired detailed targeting.

  2. Caution: Avoid overly specific targeting, as it can limit reach.

Step 6: Save and Launch

  1. Save: Click "Save Template" to store your ad in My Templates.

  2. Launch: When ready, launch the ad and choose the appropriate offer type.

Additional Notes:

  • AI tools are available to assist with ad creation.

  • You can create multiple types of ads within one template.

  • Clearly label templates if they are for specific offer types and you plan to use multiple types.

  • When launching, connect the call-to-action button to the correct URL.
